At the Innovation Qualcomm Conference, the company announced that its mobile chipsets will be able to bring PS3 like graphics in five years from now. PS2 quality should be reality in 2010 already.
Their strategy to achieve this level of quality is by introducing dual core CPU’s and definitively splitting graphics tasks to a GPU. This includes processing 2D images.
