Qualcomm Invests in BlueStacks App Player

April 11th, 2012 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Companies & M&A | No Comments »

BlueStacks, an emulator that allows PC users to launch Android apps on their personal computers, has attracted an investment from Qualcomm. The investment follows downloads of the player passing the 1 million mark.

The ten million downloads have been recorded in the first 10 days after the beta went live. By the same time, 12 million android apps have been launched on personal computers.

The investment from Qualcomm isn’t the first investment BlueStacks attracted. Earlier, the company collected $14 million from companies like AMD and Citrix. Though the exact size of the investment hasn’t been disclosed, it is expected to be around $1 million.
