Following about a week after our first coverage, Dutch publisher and developer Playlogic has now officially filed for bankruptcy. It is to be expected that all talents will be officially fired within the next days.
Over the past months, the company didn’t manage to attract any new investments for its studio in Breda (45 employees) and head office (65 employees) in Amsterdam. Since April, it had problems to pay out the salaries. The last game from the studio was Farytale Fights. Though the budget for this game was very big, sales stayed behind. Rumors say Sony might buy the development unit in Breda as it is developing games for Sony’s new Playstation Move controller. If so, it would become the second Sony owned studio in Holland.
