British publisher Player X has announced the acquisition of Gaelco
Moviles, a mobile games developer in Spain that is also known to some
as TopGam.
Via the acquisition, Player X is expanding its current footprint in the market, as well as scaling up it’s development capacity for the licenses it owns. The amount for the acquisition is not disclosed, and Player X will leave the current development team as it is in Madrid. The company will continue as Studio X.
“This is the first in a raft of significant strategic moves for Player X and underscores our confidence in the health of the mobile games industry. Our acquisition of Gaelco means we will dramatically increase our distribution in Southern Europe and opens up another gateway into Latin America”, said Tony Pearce, Player X CEO.
