Analysts from Piper Jaffray predict that Apple has sold between 400.000 and 500.000 new iPads during the first days of launch of the iPad 2. These numbers of sales shatter those of the first iPad.
The team surveyed iPad 2 buyers and found out that 70% of the iPad 2 buyers are new to the device whereas 30% owned the previous iPad. 51% of buyers use a mac vs. 49% that use a PC. This split was 74%/26% for the first iPad. 47% were buying a 3G version. 41% bought the 32GB model.
65% of buyers owned an iPhone, 24% owned a Kindle but only 6% plan to read on their iPad 2. 17% expects to use apps.
