Though the company has been very active in mobile payments for some time, PayPal now seems to have gotten serious about it as they expect to process $700 million in sales in 2010 alone.
To boost their presence in the ecosystem, PayPal announced the Mobile Express Checkout. The new checkout closes sales in two clicks and allow consumers to remain logged in over apps to make the process even easier on them.
“Mobile commerce is the most significant change in retailing in the last century, and shopping will never be the same,” said Osama Bedier, PayPal’s vice president of platform, mobile and new ventures. “PayPal is aggressively driving this change by redefining checkout on mobile devices for millions of consumers and businesses across the world.”
