Panasonic to Re-Enter Cellphone Market

November 17th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS | No Comments »

Though Panasonic made a lot of budget cellphones in the nineties, the company had never really made the transition to smartphones. It even pulled out of the market a few years back.

Now, Panasonic is considering to re-enter the cellphone market. Panasonic’s Osamu Waki told the press that the company totally underestimated the importance and growth of the smartphone market. As Android is growing exponentially in Japan, the company is looking to get back into the race. The company hopes to start selling the first Japanese devices in 2011 and will enter the EU and US markets in 2012.
