Following several announcements about a new OS from Palm, called Nova, the company finally unveiled it at CES 2009. Surprisingly, the new OS is now known as WebOS.
The beauty of this new OS is that it is based on web standards. This means that developing mobile applications and games can be done on widely adopted technologies. This also means that competition will be fierce on the new platform.
The company announced the new OS together with their brand new 'Pre' device. Following this news, the company's shares have risen, which is a good sign for the company's future. Today, the company even spread some rumours that the popular Centro 2 will also feature WebOS.
