Sprint Nextel has announced to launch the highly anticipated Palm Pre next week on June 6th. Sprint will offer the Pre toward consumers on a two-year contract basis.
With the subscription, the device will retail for $ 200,- in their stores. The date has been cleverly picked as two days later; Apple might announce a new iPhone at their developer conference. When and if the Palm Pre will come to Europe is still unknown.
When consumers want to start using the phone, they have to create a Palm profile. No way around it. This could suggest that developers have access to some sort of cloud services for storing data in the future. Not sure about it though. Users also have to agree to the terms of Google in order to have access to GPS. If users don’t accept it, LBS developers might not be able to provide a working game.
