Following in Aldi’s Shoes, German discounter Lidl is also starting to sell off cheap Android-based smartphones. While Aldi launched the Wolfgang brand to promote their line-up of mobile devices, Lidle isn’t taking that route. Fast Company: Tablets Kill eReaders

Following the demise of the netbook, the tablet seems to be wiping out the eReader market as well. Though tablets are a true horror to the retina when reading books, the benefit of being able to read in colour and read on a device purchased for all sorts of entertainment seems to go above purchasing a dedicated reading gadget. Motorola Sales Plunge, Again

In the past quarter, Motorola Mobility has sold 8.9 million mobile devices. The sales took another dive. In the same quarter of 2011, Motorola Mobility sold 9.2 million devices. Though sales are down again, Motorola did record an increase in smartphone sales. Read the rest of this entry »
PopCap Signs Merchandising Deal on Mobile IP

Following the success of Rovio with Angry Birds, PopCap Games has also entered into an agreement to create merchandising based on PopCap’s mobile IP. Though the deal was signed off on a large number of brands owned by the EA subsidiary, the most valuable brand in PopCap’s portfolio is without doubt the Plants vs. Zombies franchise. Juniper: Samsung Topping the Smartphone Charts

Adobe has launched their new Creative Cloud service. Not only does Adobe allow you to get your newest software from the Creative Cloud, it also allows you to rent your software. PopCap Maintains Dominance through Plants vs. Zombies

When a business launches its products, all it takes is just one of the products to hit it big with the market. PopCap is a company that develops a lot of the games you might have already played, responsible for such classics as Bejeweled, Feeding Frenzy 2 and Plants Vs Zombies. PopCap games are not only available for iOS as well as Android devices but have now taken over the gaming world by storm. A lot of the games that the company has released are available for the PC, PS3, Wii and even Xbox 360. While many titles are popular, the biggest game that the company has probably ever developed is Plants vs. Zombies which continues to be a hit in all platforms that it is available in. There is a little known fact unknown to handheld gadget users and that is this game was originally released for the PC, and not for the latter as most people commonly believe.
