July 1st, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: Brew | No Comments »

In the year that Pac-Man is turning 30, Namco has announced that their key franchise has generated over 30 million downloads on the Brew platform in the US, proving that Brew is still bringing in good revenues.

To celebrate, Namco has, and will be bringing out many more Pac-Man games on many platforms along this year. Amongst others, Pac-Man is also set to debut in a 3D TV based game.

“Since 2003, we’ve worked closely with Qualcomm and Brew carriers to bring PAC-MAN-related content to the mass market,” stated Namco Networks’ senior vice president of sales and marketing, Scott Rubin.  “With more than 30 million paid transactions in the U.S., our goal remains the same—to please all consumers with top-notch games.”

“Namco is not only one of the top video game publishers in the United States, but a leader in the Brew development space,” said Mitch Oliver,  vice president of ecosystem development for Qualcomm. “The wireless world of gaming and interactive entertainment is rapidly evolving, and we are excited to share the success of such a popular franchise.”
