Social gaming network OpenFeint has added a new feature for developers. Achievements can now be purchase related. This means that consumers can earn achievements by spending money on in-game purchases.
This news was revealed by Jon Jordan, who spoke with OpenFeint. The company explained that higher achievements can be activated by developers as a reward for converting from free to paid versions or by activating premium content via in-game purchases. The company hopes this will be an additional incentive for consumers to start spending.
