Windows licences have been over-complicated in the past years. There are so many editions, consumers often don’t know what to purchase. With Windows 8, that will change as Microsoft is releasing ‘only’ three versions of the operating system.
Consumers will have to choose between Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro while Windows RT is only available B2B. This version of Windows is built for ARM-based hardware like smartphones, netbooks and tablets.
Windows 8 is based on the Windows 7 OS. It supports Live Tiles (also seen on the new Xbox OS) ans is fully optimized for touch interfaces.
