While T-Mobile has been making a lot of noise around their plans for a non-Apple app store, O2 has been silent on the topic. Meanwhile, there is a site called O2Litmus.co.uk which, if you take a look at it's RSS feed, offers a sneak peak into the new platform.
The RSS feed starts by displaying a screenshot over at Flickr. In a story linked on the Bima Blog, O2 states the primary objectives of the Litmus platform;
- Develop a way to drive mobile innovation and provide a fast route to market for successful applications
- Create an ecosystem where all players in the value chain benefit. Developers have to be able to make money via O2 Litmus.
- Find new ways to provide O2 customers with unique experiences, building on the success of The O2 venue and the iPhone.
- Empower their leading edge customers
