Nokia’s MOSH; a Mobile Gaming Piracy Paradise?

September 20th, 2007 by Anonymous Blogger Posted in Analysis & Editorial | No Comments »

NokiaThis morning, Jan Rezab (now heading up mLiven) notified us about a recent update on his blog about Nokia‘s MOSH service. A service to mobilize and share mobile entertainment…

As he points out on his blog, clearly there is no close watch on the uploaded content. The site is swamped with what seem to be cracked mobile games. Though some uploads look authentic (i.e. 3D Sudoku from user 3darts and Coast Cruiser 3D by Fishlabs), games like Darkest Fear III from user cosmyn_11aug and Tony Hawks Project 8 from user eduardobuarque seem clear proof that the service is widely abused.

Clearly this shows that mobile games are a bit like politics. If you have a great plan, that’s welcome, but be sure it is fully thought out before you execute it as Nokia’s MOSH service is even a more easy way to get illegal free mobile games then P2P would ever be.
