Nokia Offers WYSIWYG App Generator

May 3rd, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Analysis & Editorial | No Comments »

Nokia has launched a WYSIWYG editor for websites that wish to take their RSS feeds mobile. With the launch of the tool, Nokia could see the app offering on Ovi Store explode.

The tool allows webmasters to build a full Ovi app in under 10 minutes which can be offered for free, ad-supported or paid. For paid apps, developer do have to join the Ovi Publishers program which has a charge of € 50,-. It is not clear to us yet what the device support will be like yet but we have submitted a test so we hope to find out soon.

To avoid too much duplicate content or apps showing content that doesn’t belong to the creator, Nokia will check ownership before publishing.
