While most developers celebrate the launch of the iPad last week, Nintendo has given their opinion on Apple’s ‘gaming’ devices. According to Nintendo, ‘Apple simply can't match the gameplay experiences’.
Nintendo reacted on Kotaku where the company outed that Apple is not having any impact on Nintendo’s business. Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime says they didn’t see any impact on volume, hardware and software (though some iPhone titles are coming to DSiWare).
He refers to data that shows apps are being fired up only a couple of times before a gamer moves to the next. Such a model can’t be profitable in the long run.
"If our games represent a range between snacks of entertainment and full meals depending on the type of game, (Apple's) aren't even a mouthful in terms of the gaming experience you get."
