During an event in Tokio last week, The Financial Times has held an interview with Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s president, about Nintendo’s competition and mobile plans.
With the launch of the DSi, Nintendo has already added several features that are common to mobile gamers like camera and downloadable games. Nintendo admits that constant innovation is important to stay ahead of the (mobile) competition, but will not add phone functionality yet. Nintendo might reevaluate that decision later, but only when operators will drop monthly costs for phone usage (ever heard of pay-as-you-go?).
