Nielsen: 27 Apps on Every US Smartphone

Nielsen has revealed that the average US smartphone has 27 apps installed. This average is mainly pushed up by Android and iOS where consumers have easy access to free apps and games.

iPhone owners have 40 apps installed on average while Android owners install about 25 apps. Blackberry owners install 14 apps on general, but we have to keep in mind many System Administrators don’t allow BB users to install anything on their devices.

61% of the US smartphone owners have installed a mobile game. Second most popular is installing a weather app (55%) and maps take third place (50%).
