Niccolo de Masi Responds to Glu Overhaul Story

February 19th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Companies & M&A, Platforms: J2me | No Comments »

Glu Earlyer this week, we reported on an interview between Jon Jordan and Glu CEO Nicollow de Masi in which the publisher seemed to make clear that J2me would no longer have a real future in the company.

Today, Niccolo took the time to provide MGB with a more detailed view on how Glu will handle J2me development and publishing in the future as their plans are not as black & white as they appeared to us.

"The Java platform is currently an important portion of our revenues for which we have a full pipeline throughout 2010 and beyond.  To ensure we remain optimally placed to support our carrier partners in the future, we are devoting an ever larger portion of development resources henceforth towards the smartphone platforms they are actively accelerating consumer adoption of." Said Niccolo de Masi to MGB.

Glu has always been an important publisher of J2me games and it is positive to see Glu will stay committed to the platform.
