For years, one thing was sure when it came to Star Wars branded mobile games; they came from a company called THQ Wireless. That seems to have changed now as Ngmoco released Star Wars Imperial Academy.
The company first launched the game last month in Canada (staying under our radar) and has now made the game available to their global audience. It also seems to be the first free Star Wars game as far as we can see. Ngmoco monetizes through in-app purchases and the response to that approach is not taken lightly in the Dutch App Store. The app scores 2.5 stars with consumes complaining about the obtruciveness of in-app purchases in the title and problems with the gameplay.
