Consolidation still seems to be all around us, and recently a lot is happening in the distribution field. After Buongiorno recently bought iTouch, Net-M now announced to have bought a strategic stake in 8 Elements to expand in the Asia-Pacific area.
Net-M has bought in total 18% of the shares in 8 Elements Ldt. with an option to acquire even more shares. Through the agreement, 8 Elements also received a franchise agreement for bringing Net-M’s Maxmedia content distribution platform to it’s channels.
8 Elements brings 30 new potential customers to Net-M in the carrier/operator and other media segments of the market. Spread over 8 countries, 8 Elements provides 18 operators and 14 independent portals with mobile content like mobile games and video. Amongst these operators are Maxis, Smartone (Vodafone), Telstra and Globe.
