Namco Networks announced the release of another arcade classic on
mobile. This time, they served up BurgerTime Delight, a super-sized
version of the classic.
The release is just in time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the arcade classic. The BurgerTime Delight mobile game has been polished up a lot by Namco. The game feature an enhanced modus, new characters and mini-games.
The mobile game has been developed through Namco’s relationship with Japanese developer G-Mode. The game follows the storyline of the original 1982 game that was released by Data East whose game rights are now owned by G-Mode. You as the player take on the role of Chef Pepper and it is your task to create giant burgers by knocking down all the ingredients on giant plates on the bottom of the screen, while being chased by enemies like Mr. Hotdog, Mr. Egg and Mr. Pickle.
"BurgerTime was such a popular ’80’s classic with addictive game play that it only made sense for Namco Networks to bring this property to mobile phones and enhance the game play for mass-market consumers to enjoy," said Scott Rubin, vice president of sales and marketing, Namco Networks. "G-mode has been a great partner for us and we are delighted to offer this mobile-only version of BurgerTime to casual mobile gamers."
In the arcade mode, the game features the original graphics and gameplay you might know from the 1982 original version while the enhanced version introduces lots of new content and graphics which polish the mobile game to today’s standards. Also there are new obstacles and Mr. Garlic and Mr. Carrot are added as now enemies. The enhanced version is also fitted with a mini-game that allows you to collect words for additional lives or skipping the remainder of a level.
