MWC: Microsoft Announces Windows Marketplace

February 16th, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: Windows Mobile | 1 Comment »

Microsoft
Yet another “big one” over at the Mobile World Congress announced it's plans to release an “App Store”. This time it's Microsoft who will have it's Windows Marketplace ready when it will launch Windows Mobile 6.5.

This announcement from Microsoft has been long awaited by the mobile games industry. Previously we already mentioned the rumours as many where calling it the “Sky Market”.

Tough there is no news on the financials, Microsoft did announce that Microsoft will be doing checks on the content. The severity of the checks and possible constraints are also unknown at the moment.
