Mozilla Works on Mobile Operating System

July 26th, 2011 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS | 1 Comment »

As if we didn’t have enough already, Mozilla has announced the organization is working on their own mobile operating system, though the basis of the project is Google’s Android OS.

The new OS will be called B2G (or Boot to Gecko) and is based on its mobile browser. All apps for the OS should be webbased as well, but that’s as far as the plans go for now.

This one I’m actually interested in. I’m an Android user right now, but I’d like to see what the guys at Mozilla come up with… What will be the main selling point when compared to iOS’s “you know what to expect” and Android’s openness?
