It seems the soap surrounding InfoSpace Mobile and the many
acquisitions of it’s portfolio is finally over as Motricity added the
final elements to it’s own portfolio.
With the acquisition, Motricity extends the experience for the development and deployment of mobile storefronts. The deal also adds 11 of the 13 top performing North American operators to the clientbase including AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint.
Motricity now also has offices in the UK, France and the Netherlands. The office in the Netherlands has always been specialised in developing SMS based applications and acted as a separate cell in the old InfoSpace structure. The office never showed any considerable overlap with the other InfoSpace services and has always been financially healthy. It is unknown if Motricity will make any changes here. In regards to the UK acquisition, it is unclear at this moment if this is just the general office, the IOMO studio or both in which case Motricity also expands in the mobile gaming area.
