Some months ago, Google announced its intentions to purchase Motorola. At that time, US and European authorities still needed to give approval for the takeover. If all goes right, Google should be getting some good news along the coming week as it will be allowed to spend its 12.500.000.000 on the acquisition.
This news comes from Reuters who received tips from several anonymous sources. The only territory that still needs to give its approval is China. The news of Google acquiring Motorola dates back to August. Next to being able to product its own cellphones and tablets, Motorola allows Google to also build internet modems for its internet services and settop boxes for Google TV. It also brings Google a wealth of patents it can use to fight off Microsoft and Apple.
