Kamar Shah was in Amsterdam today as he held a keynote speech (together with many other mobile gaming minded people) about the world of mobile content. MobileCowboys was there, and here's the English recap.

Kamar started his speech with something new to most of the people in the audience. Everybody had to switch chairs. Probably it's a smart way of him to make sure everybody is awake.

Kamar believes that 2012 is THE year of mobile content. The mobile games industry will have a turnover of 50.000 billion dollars (is the industry growing, or is the dollar loosing value?).

These days, consumers spend about 300,- on a new mobile phone. Though the phone is near the price of a cheap laptop, the content experience is disappointing for most of them. They expect a laptop high speed internet experience and that's not what they get.

It's time to redefine the consumer experience and that needs to happen through 5 key elements;
Find: Through mobile, internet or even a box in a store.
Try: Offer consumers a chance to get a feel of what they are purchasing.
Buy: Consumers buy depending on their situation. Offer plenty of billing methods.
Manage: Be sure that consumers know where to find their downloaded games. Until now, only Apple does this right.
Share: Sharing will only be a success if it's free.

Combining these elements will lead to a much better consumer experience according to Kamar. He tried these techniques with success at Nokia and will continue to experiment.
