Moblin Accesses Android Market Too

June 15th, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS | No Comments »

Intel A few weeks back we announced that Ubunto users have gained access to the Android Market. It seems Canonical isn't the only distro interested as Intel announced that Moblin will be Android enabled as well.

Just like Ubunto, Moblin will use virtualization to get Android applications running on their x86 platform. Android itself was designed to work on a mobile ARM chipset.

Intel intends to use Moblin with Android support on a wide range of appliances ranging from internet tablets to netbooks. Moblin is very popular amongst netbook vendors.
