This morning we flew in to Sweden to visit the eLBeS event that is preceding the Nordic Games Expo (that we will cover tomorrow). With visitors and speakers from around the world, the eLBeS event clearly shows the importance of this upcoming technology.
The event was moderated and lead by Maarten Noyons, chairman of the IMGA (International Mobile Game Awards). Maarten explained that the market is gearing up for support of location based gaming and applications. Examples are last year’s winners of the IMGA awards as well as companies like Nokia that invest in acquiring navigation companies like Navteq.
IMGA is supporting location based games by introducing the Real World Games category for the awards.
At the end of the event, Maarten did a round table conversation which was all about hats. Want to know more? Hang on as we will post that later!
