It seems there is a new source of revenue for mobile developers. The new project is called LicenseMyCode and allows developers to sell non-exclusive licenses to their sourcecode.
By licensing out their sourcecode, other developers can quickly create their own interpretation of existing games. A scheme that will undoubtedly lead to a new flood wave of apps, fighting for a spot in the already crowded appstores.
Currently, developer Clay Kohut is only offering his own apps on the site, but he is working on opening up the site to other developers as well. In that case, the site will take a 10% rev-share on any deal made. So far, Clay sold 10 licenses on his own games.
