Looking at the sales results, I am not entirely sure if ‘successor’ is the right term for it, but LG is set to release yet another devices with native 3D support via an autostereoscopic screen (ala Nintendo’s 3DS).
The new device leaked earlier, but we have found new details on what is currently called the CX2. The device is a lot thinner compared to the original Optimus 3D and likely runs Android 2.3 upon release, suggesting LG hasn’t managed to prepare Android 4.0 for native 3D yet. The CX2 seems to be running on an 1.2 Ghz Omap4-soc from Texas Instruments. It will also hold a twin-camera at 5 megapixel.
