J.P. Morgan: Tablet Bubble to Pop

March 10th, 2011 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Analysis & Editorial | No Comments »

Analysts from J.P. Morgen expect that 2011 will be the year in which the tablet bubble will pop due to the release of the iPad 2 from Apple.

Tablet developers are all pushing their iPad killers on the market but J.P. Morgan expects that only the iPad 2 will manage to sell really well and will leave competitors with large quantities of unsold stock. One of the key criteria is that the iPad 2’s hardware is much better than any first generation tablet from Apple and it’s competitors.

All tablet developers together expect to produce 81 miljoen tablets while J.P. Morgan expects them to realistically produce 65.1 million units. J.P. expects 47.9 million of them to actually ship.
