iTunes Voucher Codes Hacked!?

March 11th, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS | No Comments »

Apple
What if a consumer is buying all your games with.. false iTunes vouchers? The probability of this happening is pretty big as nearly six months ago, hackers managed to decipher Apple's methods for generating iTunes vouchers.

Though this wasn't big news by then as they illegal vouchers where mostly traded in China, they now seem to be heading over to Europe. In China, there are so many key generators that there is hardly any money to be made with it. Here in Europe, the Chinese expect to find a new market for them.

So we ask, what if a consumer pays your game with a false voucher code? Will Apple pay? We don't have an agreement with Apple, so we can't say if Apple takes responsibility or not. Anyone out there who can comment on this?
