According to the International Telecommunication Union, there will be 5.3 billion devices in use by the end of this calendar year. 940 million of them have a 3G connection or better.
90% of the human society lives in a mobile network covered area, though in developing countries that is only 80%. The number of new cellphone subscriptions versus extensions is decreasing. Though there is not much game specific information in the report, it is a nice read.
