Another update we missed during the event coverage yesterday was the introduction of the third generation iPod Touch. The second gen was already faster then the iPhone 3G but it seems this time it's the other way around.
This new version of the iPod Touch has received the OpenGL ES 2.0 upgrade many gamers might have been waiting for. Apart from the GPU upgrade, it also supports many of the other speed upgrades found in the iPhone 3GS. The new iPod will come at 32GB and 64GB models with the price ranging from $299 to $399. Just like with the iPhone, the old 8GB model will keep being sold. This model will be priced $199.
