iPhone 3G Counts 130,000 Reservations at O2 UK

June 19th, 2008 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Smartphones & Tablets | 1 Comment »

Apple
The success of the second generation iPhone from Apple is doubted by
lots of analysts in the industry. At O2 UK, 130K devices have been
reserved already.

This number is significantly higher then the original iPhone that received 35K reservations before launch. Clearly the Brits see more value in the 3G version. O2 provides the phone for free at a 45 GBP subscription. The number of reservations and the fact that the iPhone will enter more countries is very promising for mobile game developers.

    1. Now i’ve personally moved internal development focus to iPhone/iTouch more recently, this is more good news for once that iPhone is building into a platform worthy of any mobile developers attention and indeed offers further scope for direct revenue generation from entertainment titles to be made available on the Apple Store in future.
Great and may they sell many more!
