Apple has all reasons to celebrate the launch of the iPad. While being on sale only a few days, the device already sold more units then Palm sold WebOS based smartphones in the last quarter.
According to Business Insider, Apple sold 300.000 devices on launch day. In total, Palm sold 408.000 devices during the whole Q1 2010. Apple also launched the device with more apps compared to Palm. In their last earnings call, Palm announced to have 2.000 apps available while the iPad launched with just over 3.000 dedicated apps (not to forget compatibility with all iPhone apps.
