In the past quarter, Apple sold 11% more products compared to the previous quarter. Though most product groups showed an increase in sales, desktop sales actually decreased.
The biggest growth was in the iPod sales (115% or 19.5 mln. Pcs.) it is not clear how many of these iPods have been iPod Touch models since the iPod Nano 6G is very popular for it’s design. Ipad sales grew with 75% (7.3 mln. pcs.) despite Apple is likely to introduce a new model this quarter.
iPhone sales grew with 15% (16.5 mln. pcs.). The iPhone brought in $10.5 billion and the iPad was responsible for $4.6 billion in revenues. iPod sales brought in $3.4 billion.
In the presentation by Tim Cook, he called Windows tablet heavy, expensive and big with a bad batterylife and a need for mouse and keyboard. Android tablets are bizarre products according to Tim as they are just big phones.
