Indian Operator Olive Builds Android Pad

July 26th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS | No Comments »

Indian operator Olive has introduced its own Android based tablet PC. Android based tablets are not new, but this one has all the specs to make it a success in the Indian market though the costs might kill it.

The OlivePad (as it will be called) will ship with Android 2.1 and a 7 Inch capacitive touchscreen. It will have a 600 Mhz processor and 512MB RAM. The OlivePad will be introduced at $425 which is at least $74 cheaper than the iPad. On the other hand, will that matter if the cheapest iPad provides a whole lot more apps and many GB’s of additional storage?
