March 29th, 2011 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Research & Stats | No Comments »

According to new research from IDC, Windows Phone 7 seems to have potential to become the second largest mobile operating system by 2015. Android will have the lead in that year.

IDC expects vendors to ship 450.000.000 smartphones over 2011. That’s up 147.000.000 units year-on-year. The cooperation with Nokia will help boost Microsoft’s market share. Microsoft’s competitor, Apple, will take the third place in 2015.
