IDC: iAd Takes Market Share from Google

September 28th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Research & Stats | No Comments »

Google has lost 6% mobile advertising market share. IDC expects Apple to be the root of their problem as iAd’s market share rose from 0 to 21% in a single year.

Google is not the only company to lose market share. Microsoft, Nokia and Yahoo! also lost 3%. Google doesn’t have to be worried about this though. IDC expects the mobile advertising market to generate $500 in revenues in 2010 so the revenues are growing fast enough not to feel any real pain.

There are also a few companies that managed to grow in market share. Jumptap went from 10% to 13% and Millennial Media jumped from 9% to 11%.
