MTV Multilayer had an interview with the creator of Doom and Quake, Mr. John Carmack. Though the interview kicked off about the Wii, there was also a very interesting bit about id's plans with the iPhone.
John tells MTV that the company is close to finishing two projects for Apple's iPhoneOS. The first is a port of Wolfenstein RPG, which has already been a success on various mobile platforms. The second one is a joint project with a company in Dallas. That title has been developed specially for release on the iPhone. Though the release of that unknown game is still a mystery, John does say that Wolfenstein RPG will be ready in about a month.
John also tells the interviewer that he's playing around with the thoughts of releasing an id Classics line of games. It would kick-off with Wolfenstein 3D, followed by Doom, Quake and other id titles. John is clearly a fan of the platform and expresses his interest in going hands on with the platform himself.
