iControlPad Shows SNES Gamepad on iPhone

June 11th, 2008 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Gaming Gear | No Comments »

IcontrolpadThough the first technological demo of the iControlPad was far from interesting for those that just want to see a game being played, the team has made something exciting by combining the SNES and the iPhone.

As you can see on the video (which just went live on MGB-TV), some dude called ZodTTD is playing SNES games on his iPod Touch while using an original SNES controller. The demonstration shows that the iControlPad team has the technology covered and is ready to finally start development of their gamepad extension that will turn the iPhone into a PSP like gaming machine.

Talking about development of their new gamepad, the team has created some spectacular renders of what it will look like when it goes into production. The design is really slick and makes me want to own an iPhone as well. The development team promised the blog to send a controller to u when the first units are ready to ship. We will make sure we have an iPhone to test it on.
