According to a story on the Financial Times, HTC is seems to be set on starting up their own App Store. Of course, they have their own channel on Windows Marketplace, but this step would give them control over Android app sales.
Android Market has always been a pain for many developers when looking at premium downloads. As a result, Amazon and Acer had already announced to be launching their own app stores. Now, HTC seems to be joining this wave. Given the fact that HTC is creating apps and widgets (mainly for Sense) itself, such a step would fit well.
