About a month ago, MGB reported that the love between Gameloft and Ubisoft was pretty much over and that Ubisoft was open to discussion when it comes to licensing their IP out to others.
Today, we found the 'Silent Hunter: U-Boat Aces' on HG's site. The copyright clearly states that the title is licensed by Advanced Mobile Applications, from Ubisoft. As far as we can see, it's Ubi's first non-Gameloft game.
This is probably the first sign that Ubisoft is still committed to mobile gaming. The big question now is if Ubi will stick to licensing deals or if the company will actually start development themselves and, if that's the case, who they will acquire to get a running start. HG could fit very well in that strategy as one of the few privately owned studios that's still around from the old days and successful.
Not the first time Ubi has done this. Shaun White Snowboarding was brought out by AMA last Christmas or thereabouts.
Handygames is good but too small for Ubisoft. Why is AMA inbetween? I saw Handygames is selling it but on AMA site no news on Silent Hunter.
