It’s that time again at MGB. Strong industry rumors say that there are
plans for a management buyout within developer and publisher Hands-On.
Hands-On has always been a publishing giant within the mobile games industry, though the company had a big dip about 1.5 years ago as hardly any new quality titles left their studios. Lately, Hands-On has started putting itself back in the market and started focusing on sourcing new talented game developers as well as importing Korean mobile games to the European market.
The MBO will only impact the EU business of Hands-On and not the US. This could mean that the company will start operating under a new name. Business wise it would probably mean an improved focus on mobile games and so delivery of a better experience to their consumers or, worst case, the end of the company. For now, we hope that, if true, the MBO would lead to an improved positioning for Hands-On in the mobile games market.
