It seems that Hands-On has struck gold by licensing the Guitar Hero III brand from Harmonix / MTV. Since the release, the mobile game triggered 1 million downloads.
At the moment, the game is exclusively available through Verizon, and so untouchable for most of the world. This means that once Guitar Hero III goes live internationally, it will probably top the charts everywhere.
Ryan Hughes, vice president of digital media programming for Verizon, said, "Verizon Wireless customers have shown a tremendous appetite for mobile games – the category is an important part of our strategy to increase data revenue, and marquee titles such as Guitar Hero III help create demand and engage our customers in mobile gameplay."
