It seems Google is increasing their pr for Android and their Nexus One. After giving away hundreds of phones at the MWC, the company will now also give one to developers that trigger 5K downloads on Android Market.
Successful developers of Android Apps can expect a free Motorola Droid or Nexus One for their studio when they generate 5.000 downloads AND have at least a 3.5 star rating. The Droids will however only be handed out to US developers.
“A thriving developer community is an important part of creating a better mobile experience for users around the world. We hope that offering devices to developers will make it easier for them to create and test great applications. This is inline with other efforts to support developers, which also includes our Android Developer Labs World Tour and our upcoming participation at the Game Developers Conference.”
