To persuade operators to continue taking up Android devices in their phone offerings, Google is offering operators a part of the revenues originating from search results on the devices.
Last week, rumors surfaced that Google was sharing a part of all revenues made on their devices, including revenues from Android Market. Google admitted to PaidContent to pay for search adverts but it is not sharing any money from the Android Market. Google has similar deals with carriers for non-Android phones that have Google Search as a default.
